Marla Beck, founder of Andelcare, built one of the Seattle region’s most recognized and award-winning home care agencies out of her appreciation and affection for her grandparents and parents. As they aged and her personal caregiving role increased, Marla became an impassioned advocate for respectful home care for the elderly, the disabled and patients who are recovering from illness and hospitalization.
Caring for my grandparents late in their lives was a life-changing experience. Not only did I have the good fortune to spend time with them, it inspired me to provide the same type of care to others in the community, including my mother.
Andelcare started in 2003. To honor Marla’s grandparents she turned to the well-worn dictionary her grandfather used to learn English. Integrating the Czech word andel ( meaning angel ) with the English, care. Even the company name reflects the commitment to the highest level of compassionate care.
Marla’s dedication and compassionate spirit are vibrantly present in all the company does today. Andelcare’s commitment is to give clients the respect and care they deserve.
