Founder’s Bio

Marla Beck, CSA, CPA inactive, Founder
Marla Beck, a Certified Senior Advisor and retired CPA, is the founder of Andelcare.

The “Andel” in Andelcare is Czech for angel.  Founded in 2003, in just ten years Beck has taken Andelcare from being a startup to a multimillion dollar company employing more than 100 and providing over 12,000 hours of care a month.  Andelcare provides companionship, homemaking, personal care, nursing services, end of life care, and care management services.  The main focus at Andelcare is to make it possible for the elderly, the disabled, and adults facing surgery and disease to maintain as much independence as possible while continuing to live with dignity in the comfort of their own homes or retirement communities.

Andelcare is an award-winning Washington state company serving Seattle, Bellevue and the neighboring Puget Sound communities.  Marla was recently designated Washington’s 2012 Small Business Person of the Year.  This recognition is awarded by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

For 2012, Marla was a finalist for the Nellie Woman Business Owner of the Year Award.

Andelcare listed as one of the top 5000 companies in the United States for 2013 & 2012 by Inc. magazine.

The Better Business Bureau recognized Andelcare as the 2011 Western Washington Business of the Year.

The Puget Sound Business Journal honored Marla as one of the 2011 Women of Influence and Andelcare was designated as one of Washington’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies in 2012, 2011 and 2010.

Andelcare is also the winner of the 2011, 2010 and 2009 Better Workplace Award from the Association of Washington Business.

Andelcare is a regional recipient of the 2010 AT&T Innovator of the Year Award.

Andelcare is a 2009 and 2010 Corporate Citizenship Award winner from the Puget Sound Business Journal.

Marla is active in the Fred Hutch Magnolia Guild, Seattle Art Museum Supporters, Women’s Business Exchange, Women’s President Organization and one of the founding members of the Rainier Club’s Executive Women’s Roundtable Breakfast whose purpose is to build community across industries and generations.
